| Lease or Setup My Own Craigslist Proxy? |
|
If you are thinking of a Craigslist proxy, you can
go about it two ways. Via renting or just by
setting it up yourself. When is it best to rent and
when is it best to setup your own? If you are
posting a lot of ads each day on Craigslist, you
should probably consider creating your own server.
Just how much is a lot? Posting anywhere above 30
ads a day, would mean that I would consider setting
up my own. Less than this and you should be ok with
renting IPs from someone else. Renting IPs from
other people is fine, but usually they come at a
much higher price compared to setting up your own.
If you need to post a lot of ads on Craigslist,
look at investing into your own Craigslist proxy
instead of renting from someone else. You can save
heaps over time.

| Craigslist Tracking Craigslist Proxy Activity? |
|
Are you putting ads on on Craigslist via a
Craigslist Proxy? If so, does Craigslist know just
what you are up to? This depends entirely on how
anonymous your Craigslist Proxy is. If you are
using an exclusive or proxy server for Craigslist
that you setup yourself and are the only one with
access, most likely what you are doing is
completely safe from the prying eyes of Craigslist.
However, if you are posting on Craigslist with a
free or shared proxy server, then there is a good
chance that everything you are doing is completely
visible. Shared & free proxies typically offer less
security and are not anonymous, something which is
vital to successfully post ads on Craigslist. The
main reason is due to their how anonymous they are
and that elite proxy servers typically can not be
detetected as a proxy server. Furthermore, you may
be using a server that has several people on it who
also post on Craigslist.. Do you want to share a
proxy server with 50 other people who are also
posting on Craigslist? Obviously not. If you are
using an elite Craigslist Proxy then you should be
safe and anonymous on Craigslist.

| If I Use a Craigslist Proxy Will My Ads Get Flagged? |
Finding that you always get ads flagged on
Craigslist? A lot of people seem to think that
ads are flagged due to some IP or proxy reason..
Usually this isn't the problem.
Craigslist users flag ads, not Craigslist itself.
You will find that your ads are usually flagged
for these reasons:
A. What you are posting on Craigslist is spam or
perceived as spam. In terms of content, posting
frequency or posting locations.
B. Someone else who is in the same market as you
has decided to flag your ads so they can sell more.
You will find that they are just delibrately
flagging your ads wherever possible. You will find
that such groups of this kind exist with the sole
purpose of flagging people off Craigslist.
The main cause of your ad getting flagged is
usually one of the above. It usually is not due
to your Craigslist
proxy.

| Should I Use Passwords On My Craigslist Proxy? |
Thinking about setting up a Craigslist
Proxy and curious about why or if a
password is really needed to access it?. Having to
constantly enter usernames and passwords when
changing IPs can be tiring but should not be
neglected. Proxy servers are machines out in the
open on the internet and therefore can
potentially be accessed by anyone. Even though
there are millions of other IP addresses out on
the internet this does not make it impossible to
find your proxy server IP. In this day and age
there are a multitude of tools that can make IP
scanning a very simple process and allow someone to
scan thousands and thousands of IPs in a very
short time. Make sure that whenever you setup a
proxy that you always make it password protected.
If someone else gains access to your proxy server
then you can be held liable for any damages that
they do through the use of it. Instead of not
using a password, look to use software the can
save usernames and passwords for the IP ports on
your proxy to save time. Use these instead as
they will achieve what you want (speeding up the
login process) but also alow you to retain the
high level of security that your Craigslist
Proxy requires.
